Frequent Mailtraq crashes.

Postby marcw » Sun May 10th, 2015 10:48am

Mailtraq Version: 2.xx.x.xxxx

Periodically (2-3 times a week, lately) I go to collect mail and get a failure.

When I investigate, Mailtraq service is not running.

Restarting the service will keep it going for a few days.

The event log typically has something like:

I've set the recovery options to restart the service, but this is not getting the job done.

Would it make more sense to use "run a program" and select "mailtraq.exe" as the target?

The first of the log entries seems to suggest Mailtraq is trying to access a null file.

I tried the setting I suggested, and the results are interesting.

If after two restarts, I run mailtraq.exe, it seems to work OK- except, of course, it's no longer possible to connect to it from the console.

It's just running as a program, not as a service.

However, it doesn't seem to fail when running as a program.

Is there no way to go back to the old-style Mailtraq console?

In a perfect world, I'd prefer to run as a service and use the MMC plugin - but I can't afford to be without my mailserver at random intervals.
