Mail is returned Blacklisted or with a 550 / 554 error

Postby Susan Bunbury » Fri Aug 26th, 2005 3:58pm

Mailtraq will not allow unauthorized use of its SMTP services.

If you find that one of your Users gets mail rejected by Mailtraq with a Blacklist notice or a 55* notice:

For example:

Your Message "messagesubject" (Fri, 20 Aug 2004 12:12:16 +0200)
could not be successfully delivered to the following recipients :-

jsmith@mydomain.com [550 cannot relay for jsmith@mydomain.com]

If you have any queries regarding this notification, please
write to postmaster@mydomain.com

or like this

554 blacklisted (jsmith@mydomain.com)

make sure that the email client is sending from within the LAN definition at Options | Server | LAN

Note: If you see the message 550 5.7.1 we do not relay... then it is another mail server, not Mailtraq, which is refusing to relay.
Best wishes,
Susan
